YOUTH, THE DRIVER OF A PEACEFUL AND PROSPEROUS AFRICA
The 2019 HOJA PAN-AFRICAN YOUTH Summit was held at the MUTARE AFRICA UNIVERSITY, to tap into the minds of the youth in a bid to motivate youth to be involved in the economic, social and political development of Africa. To achieve Agenda 2063 in its wholeness, the youth of Africa should adopt policies that enable a peaceful and prosperous Africa.
HOJA is a Swahili word meaning “MOVE”. The HOJA Youth Summit came as a result ofseries of discussions among students from different Universities, youth organisations andgovernment institutions. This gave birth to the youth summit as an international synergistic movement hosted annually by higher learning institutions around Africa on behalf of the country where it is hosted.
Role of JM BUSHA 54 RACES
JM BUSHA 54 RACES NPO was a partnering sponsor to the youth summit. As our aim is to see and have a peaceful, prosperous and united people of Africa and the world, this fed directly into the HOJA 2019 theme. One of our tools for advocating for peace is education.
“Hold a book and a pen – read, write, gain knowledge and you’ll be free to dream, work, to prosper and to become the best of what you can be” Joseph Busha, Founder JM BUSHA 54 RACES NPO.
There is no better way to motivate the youth than to call for them to gain knowledge through education. Education opens a lot of opportunities through knowledge acquired. The youth is the future and engine for research and socio-economic development for any nation. Thus, the youth must be nurtured to foster responsible citizenship and create a good society.
JM BUSHA 54 calls upon the African youth to not be left behind in the fourth industrial revolution that other nations and continents are already part of. Our aim as JM BUSHA 54 RACES is to continuously inspire the youth to aspire to be part of something positively transformational. To make changes at all levels in society and to make better decisions that ensure for a peaceful and united Africa.
