JM BUSHA 54 RACES PRESS STATEMENT ON THE COMEMORATION OF AFRICA DAY
25 MAY 2022.
JM BUSHA 54 RACES joins all member states of the African Union in commemorating the Africa day running under the theme, “Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on The African Continent: Strengthening Agro-Food Systems, Health and Social Protection Systems for the Acceleration of Human, Social and Economic Capital Development”
Today we celebrate Africa, guided and responding to the principles and values of the “Africa We Want”, the ties that bind our country borders and unite our brothers and sisters into a peaceful global African community. Africa Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements and challenges of Africa especially with regard to protecting the human rights and freedoms of Africans.
This year’s theme is a reminder to Africa, to intensify her efforts in strengthening food security, and put nutrition within the reach of every person. Reminded by the African Leaders for Nutrition (ALN), endorsed by African Union Heads of State and Government in 2018, high political engagement is key in advancing the nutrition in Africa. African people must have a high standard of living, quality of life, sound health and wellbeing as per the dictates of the Agenda 2063 framework.
The vision today remains the same as in 2002, “An integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens, representing a dynamic force in the international arena” One of the most strategic pillars to get there is strengthening resilience in nutrition and food security on the African continent.
As we celebrate our anniversary today, Africa has to be reminded that, she must be an Africa that represents and caters for African aspirations for human rights and human dignity. A beautiful continent that cherish peace and unity which complete the puzzle of a global village.
